Who We're Looking For:
We're on the lookout for an experienced and skilled Senior Social Media Strategist to join our growing team! The Senior Social Media Strategist is a key position at Major Tom, and is responsible for defining and executing on clients' social strategies across multiple channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Twitter. You will collaborate with a group of Account Managers across Canada and the US, and also leverage the knowledge and expertise of our current Creative/Social department in Vancouver.
This position is an integral part of our social team, and will contribute strategic and creative thinking. The Senior Social Media Strategist will have in depth experience managing paid and organic social. The successful candidate will also have high fluency in social media strategy creation and execution, along with strong presentation and client relationship skills. You should have knowledge of various social media management tools and be well versed in reporting, with ability to extract actionable insights from analytics.
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of professional experience managing social media channels and providing strategy recommendations to internal or external stakeholders
Extensive knowledge of social media with a passion for creating fresh ideas
Comfortable developing high-level strategies as well as leading tactical execution
Deep understanding of social media and marketing trends with the ability to translate those understandings into insights and recommendations
Proven experience managing and optimizing paid and organic social media campaigns on all major platforms
Experience with digital content management tools as well as digital marketing analysis platforms including Google Analytics and Hootsuite
Able to understand and interpret data using analytics and reporting tools
Able to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
Able to demonstrate how social media tactics and campaigns contribute to broader social media or marketing strategies and client business or marketing objectives
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
Excellent project management skills
Thrives under pressure and able to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Experience in a management role leading the creation and implementing digital/social media strategies and campaigns
Experience sourcing, vetting, and managing influencer partnerships for campaigns and ongoing brand engagements
Experience with AirTable, Adobe CS
What You'll Get To Do:
Conceptualize, drive, implement and present social marketing campaigns and social strategies that achieve client business or marketing objectives
Create social media content to deliver on the social strategy and client brand guidelines
Publish content on social media channels according to content calendars and strategy
Define objectives and key performance metrics for social media efforts, track performance, report to clients on a monthly and quarterly basis, and recommend improvements.
Build strong relationships across multiple teams and departments (UX, SEO, Media, Creative, Analytics) to develop and execute large-scale content strategies.
Conduct research and analysis for our clients ranging from audits and surveys to interviews and workshops and use key understandings to inform strategy and execution.
Collaborate with Account Executives to identify additional service offerings for our existing roster of clients.
Support leadership in understanding pipeline and forecasts, write proposals and RFPs, pitch clients, and identify and create effective assets for the business development process.
Communicate regularly with clients to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction
Present social media marketing strategies and influence senior decision-makers to gain buy-in for proposals
Understand trends in the social media landscape to identify insights and opportunities to keep Major Tom at the forefront of digital engagement
