If you answered yes, then you’re in the right place!

Let me start by introducing myself.

Hi, I’m Geoff — Kwantlen Polytechnic University GDMA grad, weekend hockey goalie, cat Dad, miniature painting hobbyist and Visual Designer at Major Tom.

So, what is a visual designer you ask? Well, at Major Tom, this means that if a project requires creative visual thinking, I’ll be involved. This includes web UI, brand strategy, identity design, social media creative, ad campaign creative, and whatever else is thrown my way. Working closely with me, you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of project types all allowing you the opportunity to grow existing skills and learn some new things along the way.

Our small but mighty creative team is looking to add a co-op student in January.

Interested? Read below to see if we’re the right fit for you.

What your day could look like:

  • Collaborating with UX, Front-end and Back-end developers
  • Taking part in client discovery workshops
  • Sitting in on and delivering project presentations
  • Creating mood boards, UI designs, logo designs, social posts, etc.
  • Taking part in team brainstorming sessions

What kind of person we’re looking for:

  • A keen eye for detail and a strong knowledge of design principles
  • Skilled using Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience using web prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma or Adobe XD
  • Has a desire to learn and willingness to receive feedback
  • Able to contribute to group discussions

If this sounds like you, please apply with a copy of your resume, answer the application questions, and tell me about yourself.

This is a paid, full-time position from January to April 2021.

This position is supported by a government wage subsidy program. Applicants who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
